| About IBANY |
Advocacy … networking … professional developmentA unique combination of advocacy, professional development and networking has led to more than 107 years of success for the Insurance Brokers’ Association of the State of New York. Run by a board of volunteer brokers, the Association represents the interests of New York’s leading commercial insurance producers and works to ensure that brokers' voices are heard. IBANY’s message is persistent in legislative and regulatory matters, promoted by the brokers themselves and by a legislative advocate who is well respected in Albany, Washington, and among other industry organizations. As an IBANY member, your concerns are consistently relayed to those who legislate and regulate our industry. In many cases, IBANY advocacy and professional development programs operate hand in hand. Broker members often participate in meetings with New York State’s Superintendent of Insurance, as well as with legislators from the Assembly and Senate Insurance Committees. What better way to champion the organization and your brokerage, and gain valuable insight into the legislative and regulatory processes? The Association’s professional development efforts also include frequent interaction with insurance company leaders and other industry experts. Broker members have the opportunity to spend time with top decision makers of major insurance carriers at the Association’s popular CEO Forums, generally with an audience of 35 or fewer to ensure generous time for interaction with the featured speaker. Executive Roundtable Discussions use information and opinions provided by a panel of experts as a basis for lively discussions on a variety of timely topics.

IBANY also places particular emphasis on networking opportunities for broker and associate members. Two popular receptions held in New York City each year are examples of the Association’s balance of advocacy, professional development and quality time with colleagues in an informal setting, all of which help to build valuable relationships and successful businesses.
