Who Are We?

For more than a century, the Insurance Brokers’ Association of the State of New York (IBANY) has represented the interests of New York’s leading commercial insurance producers. Run by a board of volunteer brokers, the Association uses a unique combination of advocacy, professional development and networking to accomplish the following goals:

Promote the professional knowledge and status of IBANY members

Ensure the general welfare of the Association

Provide opportunities for business interaction between the brokerage and underwriting communities

Foster better understanding between the Association, its members, and the companies with which members do business

Study and promote a more thorough understanding of the general public's insurance needs

Support all legislation, or legislative and political activities, that are in the members' common interests

IBANY's membership is comprised of approximately 20 broker members and 15 associate members. Broker members include retailers, wholesalers and E&S brokers. Associate members include carrier companies and other organizations associated with the brokerage community.
