At its formation in 1898, IBANY united the influential voices of New York’s leading insurance brokerage firms, distinguishing commercial insurance brokers within the city’s thriving financial and commercial community. Today’s IBANY members are entrepreneurial in spirit and financially successful. These market leaders continue to work through the Association to further develop and secure their distinct position in the shaping and delivery of commercial risk-based financial products and services.

Membership in IBANY is comprised of approximately 20 broker members and 15 associate members.  The Broker Member category includes retailers, wholesalers and E&S brokers. Carrier companies and other organizations associated with the brokerage community represent the Associate Member category.
