At its formation in 1898, IBANY united the influential voices of New York’s leading insurance brokerage firms, distinguishing commercial insurance brokers within the city’s thriving financial and commercial community. Today’s IBANY members are entrepreneurial in spirit and financially successful. Membership in IBANY is comprised of approximately 20 broker members and 15 associate members.  The Broker Member category includes retailers, wholesalers and E&S brokers. Carrier companies and other organizations associated with the brokerage community represent the Associate Member category.

• Retired insurance industry professionals

• Persons employed outside of the insurance industry

• Persons employed by non‐member brokers, wholesalers and insurers whose firm has not been an IBANY member in the past four years are eligible for individual membership for up to three years. (Maximum of two individual memberships per firm)
